  What is the JW's take on pets?

  i have always loved animals and have had pets through out the years, so that got me thinking about my jw childhood, not to many dubs had pets, i remember only a small handful of dubs that had a dog.

  i wondered if there is a jw realted reason for this, so far the only thing that i can think of is that a pet "would take up valuable time that could be better spent on field service" .

  any one have some information on this?.

  remember them days @ dcs where we'd all get up at some god awful hour to make hoagies for the lunch time crowd?.

  and shasta was the cola of choice?

  does anyone know how those vendors were negotiated?

  How Did you Feel Being Raised as a Jehovah's Witness?

  quite a thought, huh?

  i was raised from birth as my family was in it 7 years before i was born ( 1952).

  i remember wanting to go out for school sports in high school as my p.e.

  I was born into it, my parents converted way before I was born, so unlike my older brothers and sisters, I never knew what it was like to celebrate anything, always feeling like I didn't fit in with the other kids in grade school, I remember even feeling sorry for those poor kids who were going to die in armageddon. I remember once I had to do a book report, it was suppose to be on a book from the library, my parents made me do it from the My Book of Bible Stories book, my teacher didn't accept it, all the kids laughed at me. When I was about 12-13 I started not feeling like I was a JW, I didn't care. I think you either buy in to it, learn to cover your tracks and just look like your a good dub, or totally rebel against it. Guess which one was me?

  I was never a hoagie fan, but I liked the muffin egg, cheese danish, and frozen orange juice. At lunch my parents would tailgate and had a picnic, I don't think my dad liked the Jehovafood very much.

  Can a JW be a Notary Public?

  i am not sure how it is in other states but in california you have to raise your right hand and take the oath of office, in that oath you swear or affirm to the best of your ability, preserve, protect and defend the constitution of the united states and the laws of the united states so help me god.

  is there a conflict for jw's on this?

  jw do not serve in public offices, a notary by law is a public office, due to the fact that you swear to protect and defend the constitution you are saying that you are allies with the united states.

  Demon Experiences

  i believe that in the past i've started threads about ghosts and such but i haven't started one about me asking others if they have had a personal experience with a demon.. a couple of days ago i was talking to my dub son-in-law about how i wish i could believe in the unseen....such as ghosts, the paranormal, or anything out of the ordinary.. he said to me......"well what about demon stories"?

  he related some stories that were given at an assembly from some who were greatly bothered by demons, mostly from africa.. so, what are we to make of those with such stories?

  are they lying?

  Appealing a JC Decision

  " has anyone ever heard of a decision being reversed because of an appeal?
